I aggressively collected geocoins from May 2006 through to the end of 2008. Presented here are 986 of the approximately 1,040 geocoins I acquired during the frenzy.

Lower Mainland Geocachers

Lower Mainland Geocachers

This is a non-trackable geocoin issued by the Lower Mainland Geocachers Association in British Columbia, Canada. Here is the official description of the geocoin from the Landsharkz web site:

This geocoin is brought to you by the Lower Mainland Geocachers and represents British Columbia's Lower Mainland. On the geocoin face, a geocacher caches in the north shore mountains with the city of Vancouver stylized in the background. On the reverse, a technically accurate relief map of the Lower Mainland highlighting the Vancouver area, North Shore mountains and the Fraser River delta. Recreational activities adorn the back to represent a small portion of what is so popular about the area and€œ the outdoors.

A personal note from the artist:

It is hard for one to describe in a single word or icon what the Lower Mainland represents to us that live here; the beauty of the ocean, the view from the mountains or walking the rich forest trails. All can be had in a single day, yet you can never finish exploring the beauty we call home.
