Stanley Cup Shows Up For Easter Lunch
The Stanley Cup made a surprise appearance after Easter Lunch. The family had gathered at Aunt Joc and Uncle Mark's house in Toronto for Easter lunch, along with Grandma and Grandpa S. It was shortly after dessert that the neighbour knocked on the door to announce the Stanley Cup was out front. Sure enough, it was!
The knock came at the door while everyone except Dan was upstairs. Upon answering the door, the neighbour pointed out that the Cup was right out front. After a quick peek confirmed it was so, Dan ran upstairs and told everybody the Stanley Cup was in front of the house.
After a bit of disbelief, and some comments about too much wine, everybody moved outside for picture time. The cup was travelling with its "caretaker" who takes it places and shows it off. After the photo session, it was taken inside a house across the street.
When asked if Phoebe (the Pug) could be placed inside the bowl for a shot, the answer was no. However, apparently moments before a baby was having its picture taken while sitting in the bowl. Phoebe didn't seem too pleased about not getting to sit in the cup, as can be seen in the pictures where she is looking rather grumpy. And to make a fun thing even better, they sat the cup on its travelling case directly in front of Grandpa's Mini Cooper!
Lunch consisted of barbequed lamb chops, asparagus pasta, strawberry-spinach salad, and crème brûlée for dessert. There was unanimous agreement that everything was delicious.
Hey look! It's the Toronto Maple Leafs. Recognize any names?
