Thuringia by SwedenHawk

Thuringia by SwedenHawk

Originally released in June 2006 by German geocacher SwedenHawk, this geocoin celebrates the state of Thuringia. SwedenHawk lives in Weimar, the fourth largest city in Thuringia. The 3D engraving on the obverse is of the Wartburg, the castle where Martin Luther (in hiding) translated the bible in 1522. Today the castle is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This geocoin was sold in four metals: Antique Bronze (250), Antique Silver (150), Black Nickel (50), and Antique Gold (50). The fourth finish -- polished copper -- was available for trade only and I traded one of my personal geocoins with SwedenHawk to obtain this example.
