Hamilton Waterworks

Officially called the Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology, this is actually an incredible water works pumping station. First opened in 1859, the twin 70-ton steam engines pumped water to the city until 1910, and was kept on operational stand-by until 1939 (in case the new-fangled "electricity" didn't catch on). This incredibly preserved work of beauty is the only surviving installation of its type in North America.
